Allison Greer graduated from Kenyon College in 1998 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. She pursued training in elementary teaching as an intern in the Stanley British Primary School teacher preparation program in Denver, Colorado, and received a master of arts degree in educational psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver. Allison taught kindergarten and first grade in the Winnetka Public Schools for eight years. While there, she worked with Paul Trafton on the implementation of problem-based mathematics instruction. Allison also supervised pre-service teachers in early childhood education at National-Louis University in Chicago. She joined CEMSE in 2010 as a contributor to the Common Core State Standards edition of Everyday Mathematics for kindergarten and first grade. Allison is currently working as a teacher in residence on the further development of Everyday Mathematics.
