Jennifer Bivens has a BA in Comparative Literature from Northwestern University where she studied Spanish and French language and literature. She began her career in educational publishing in 1998 at McDougal Littell where she worked in the technology and marketing departments developing materials and training staff for the world languages high school textbook programs. She continued work with McDougal Littell and Houghton Mifflin as a freelancer writing, copyediting, developing technology, and correlating mathematics, world languages, and language arts standards to ML and HM products. In 2006, she earned an MA in Mathematics Education from DePaul University and focused on teaching middle school and high school mathematics. She is certified to teach both Math and English/Language Arts in the middle and high school. Bivens then returned to developing, writing, and editing mathematics and language arts materials before coming to CEMSE in 2008.
